Irises offer stunning garden beauty in an almost infinite rainbow of colors.
They herald the annual beginning of
spring, the end of winter’s cold and dark.
However, once each variety blooms during its one or
two weeks of glory,
only
the memory of its beauty (and the photographs) remain until next season.

Here are a couple of ways to
extend the iris bloom time:
1. EARLY, MIDDLE AND LATE:
First, take advantage of the Early, Mid Season and Late Season blooming characteristics
built into the various varieties.
Depending upon your local climate
this can be: Early from
April 1 to 14, Mid Season from April 14 to 28
and Late from April 29 to May 10 (as it is here in Central California.)

OR: Your Early season might
begin in late May and run through June…

We have
friends at higher altitude in Colorado who
are at Mid Season bloom around July 4 every year.

Thus, a
little planning can extend your bloom season up to 6 weeks.
