Winter 2011-2012: Rainfall has been sparse so far
5.35" since October 1...(including the 1.7" on Jan 21-23
and a trace that fell Feb 7 and 1.0" that fell Feb 13
and
the 0.45" that fell Feb 15.)
National Weather Service blames La Nina'
- colder than
normal sea surface temps in the equatorial Pacific Ocean.
(As of mid February...La Nina' is "approaching normal", meaning
Sea Surface Temps are beginning to rise in the equatorial Pacific.)
